A Model for Spatial Multicriteria Hierarchical Clustering CoDE-SMG – Technical Report Series

چکیده
Research on the problem of multicriteria territory partitioning is at its begin. This is mainly due to the fact that it involves tools from fields that are to this day still young. To answer this shortage, we propose an adaptation of a multicriteria clustering method that takes spatial constraints into account. Two variants are described and tested on an illustrative case. This example deals with the partitioning of the Walloon region in Belgium into clusters with a similar level of well-being as perceived by its inhabitants. This gives us interesting results that illustrate the properties of the algorithm we use.

On the use of Valued Action Profiles for Relational Multicriteria Clustering CoDE-SMG – Technical Report Series
Data clustering techniques aim at eliciting hidden structures of a data set by partitioning it into groups of similar elements. In the case of relational clustering, the similarity is based on the relations that exist between elements rather than on intrinsic features of each element. However, applying relational clustering tools to the context of Multicriteria Decision Making requires caution ...

Application of 3D-QSAR on a Series of Potent P38-MAP Kinase Inhibitors
One of the most applied methods in drug industry for development of new drugs is 3D-QSAR methodology. As p38-mitogen-activated protein kinase (p38-MAPK) plays a crucial role in regulating the production of such proinflammatory cytokines as tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin-1, emerging as an attractive target for new anti-inflammatory agents, we used a 3D-QSAR based method of Compa...
متن کاملChoosing the Best Hierarchical Clustering Technique Based on Principal Components Analysis for Suspended Sediment Load Estimation
1- INTRODUCTION The assessment of watershed sediment load is necessary for controling soil erosion and reducing the potential of sediment production. Different estimates of sediment amounts along with the lack of long-term measurements limits the accessibility to reliable data series of erosion rate and sediment yield. Therefore, the observed data of suspended sediment load could be used to ...
